Hi again all,
Well this morning's voice chat was .. um?? a great success?! Lol .. We only had about four of us in there, and that was never at one time, Lol!
Well a great time was had by all anyway :) I think ... *points at her enemies of the morning* but .. ahem .. I am advertising at the moment for a voice chat every Saturday at 12AM GMT (universal time).
Obviously if there's not enough people, i won't follow through with the weekly Youth affairs chat but we'll see how it all goes from here anyway!
So yes .. every Saturday at the above mentioned time I will be in the ventrilo server and we can hopefully have a bit of fun. :)

Why only broadbanders? That leaves out a lot of people... If you had it for dial-down too then both broadbanders and dial-down users could fortake in the above mentioned.... Might bring more people if one lowers the bitrate some... John
oh yes, we've definitely discussed that, but when the bit rate was lowered no-one was using the server - not even "dialdowns".
I hate to say it like that though cos I know how frustrating it is, only having upgraded from dialdown about a month and a half ago.
Sorry gang. If there is enough interest, I'm sure we can figure something out.

Might I suggest gcn for those of us that are much less fortunate, I posted in the gcn topic blindvi put in the let's talk board.

never been able to get on to the voice server. wont reconize my user name or password
Gcn stands for Global Communications network, and you can ither group voicechat on it, or one on one, it's free to register a user name, and you connect to their servers, and the setup is sufficiant that anyone can use it, unlike ventrilo. But if ya wanna know more, just send blindvi a private message, and she'll have more details.
I was having a hard time with gcn actually. I had to read all of the help files with my jaws cursor and I couldn't find the chat features and stuff like that. I'm not sure if it's a bad version that I have, or I'm not looking in the right place or what. I think we probably want to keep the voice chat stuff related to the zone on the zone voice chat server though.

This is the exact problem I have at home. It'll recidnize my username, but won't recidnize the password no matter how many times I reset it. What can we do to fix this problem? Who's end is it on? Thanks, John
I am using mountain time, what time would it be there?
um .. have heard the phraze used many times but am not sure .. KC?! help?! isn't that the same as GMT? or am I completely wrong wrong?
and don't forget that the chats are now going to start an hour earlier or later as we've gone forward and the other end of the lake has gone back, or will go back I should say (as of the time of this writing :)
Just an update, we're creating two sets of rooms on the server, one for anything goes and one for more family-oriented fare. That way we can keep the freedom of the voice chat server like we have on the site but also have a place for those who aren't into that type of thing. If you need help knowing how to switch channels, ask me or a community leader.
Alison, the voice chat on mountain time would be 6 P.M. Hope you can make it.
Timezone update: since we've changed from daylight savings time, 0:00 GMT saturday mornings is now, if I've done my math correctly, 5:00 PM fridays mountain, 6:00 central, 7:00 eastern, 4:00 pacific, 3:00 Alaskan? and 2:00 Hawaaian? Hope to see you all there... yes, I promise I'll show up sometime.

hey, stop discrimating against dial up. Some do not have that luxury. well, just sticking up for you all dial up users. i my self have broad band.
Ventrilo rocks, I'm glad there's two sets of rooms, that rocks. Also, I don't think anyone's discriminating against dial-up users. I myself don't, I just dont' want them to feel uncomfortable lagging. If theres' a dialup user, I'll chat with them whenever possible, even if we do lag.
